This home is a 1960s mid terrace, 2bed. Lorenza and Paul have been approaching and implementing a staged retrofit since 2009, doing work when they have available funds. The measures they have implemented are making a real change to energy savings (money and carbon), so doing a retrofit over a period of time without an initial large lump sum of money is possible.

• Cavity insulation with Manchester City Council scheme (2010)
• Rigid Insulation behind external wall timber panelling, front and back (2010)
• FSC insulated external doors (2014)
• FSC timber triple glazed windows, tilt and turn (2014)
• Conscious change and monitoring of occupants’ behaviour
